Dominion Power's Virginia City Hybrid Energy Center is more than 60% complete, and officials say it's on track to power up in 2012. The facility is a 585-megawatt coal-fired power plant, and 1,550 people are working on the construction site.

Homeowners in Wise County can look forward to benefitting from increased development made possible by the power generated at the plant. New development creates jobs and increases property values.
