Despite passing a 2010 spending plan that is significantly higher than neighboring towns, Broadway residents will not experience an increase in real estate tax.

"Broadway's budget for the next fiscal year is a behemoth compared to the spending plans being considered by other Rockingham County towns.

Up 33 percent from the current budget, the $11.8 million spending plan for fiscal 2010 is about $2 million more than Dayton and Elkton's proposed budgets combined."
